The original seawall had been built from concrete block, a material that had cracked, crumbled, and failed in multiple areas after years of fluctuating water levels, wave action, and weathering. As the wall’s condition worsened, shoreline erosion became a growing threat to the long-term stability of the property. An evaluation confirmed the block wall had reached the end of its useful life and that repairs would not deliver the protection the shoreline needed.
